Rooibos (pronounced “roy-boss”) is a broom-like member of the legume family of plants. It is made from the dried, oxidized young leaves and branches of Aspalathus linearis. Rooibos (translated from Afrikaans) means “red bush”, which is why the tea is often referred to as bush tea or red tea. Used for centuries in South Africa.
